Business students wishing to pursue focused study in advertising will learn a combination of marketing, media communication, social sciences, public relations, branding, global markets, diverse audiences and more. This group of classes intends to help students get a broad background in advertising by helping them understand how advertising affects and is affected by different social, political, economic, medium and cultural variables. Students will learn how to identify, research and target an audience; understand the dynamics of media culture; advertise in a global marketplace; create and build up a brand; and create an effective advertising campaign for their own businesses. Graduates of advertising programs can find work in the private and public sector and choose to work for large firms, their own companies, nonprofit organizations and other businesses.
