Marketing managers and students preparing to be marketing managers require a more thorough understanding of business concepts and management techniques. From project management to consumer credit to the global economy, marketing management programs aim to give students insight into specialized areas of the industry. These skills help them lead teams, understand how their marketing campaigns are affected by and affect other communities, connect with international partners and audiences, and communicate with consumers. The following courses, ranging from The Globalization of Consumer Credit to Communication for Managers to Strategic Marketing Measurement, give students the tools and resources they need to develop into strong managers who can lead advertising groups, market research teams and lead focus groups. Courses are offered through Connexions and the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Students also learn to improve their critical thinking and analytical skills through research projects and reading assignments.
