Ashford University is located in Clinton, IA, and was founded in 1918 by the Sisters of St. Francis. Ashford was then known as Mount St. Clare College and served students as a junior college. Mount St. Clare College continued to grow over the years, adding physical structures and degree programs. In 2002, MSC changed its name to The Franciscan University and became eligible to award Master’s level degrees. In 2005, the school was acquired by Bridgepoint Education, Inc. and became known as Ashford University. The school has been accredited by the North Central Association Colleges and Schools since 1950, and continues to provide students with high quality degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The rich academic experience at Ashford University can be accessed on campus in Iowa or online. Campus programs are offered at the Bachelor’s level in Accounting, Psychology, Business, Elementary Education, Computer Graphic Design, Health Care Administration, Public Relations and Marketing, and more. Master’s degrees can be earned through the MBA program or the Organizational Management program. Students on campus are also active supporters of their athletic teams like basketball, soccer, track, volleyball and baseball, among other programs.
