Grantham University Program Review

Grantham University strives to offer great educational opportunities to working adults with undergraduate and graduate degree programs that are career oriented and technology focused. Programs are designed to serve the needs and requirements of adults who are currently working in business and industry occupations and who are searching for a solution to their educational needs. The school is dedicated to focusing on being accessible, academically accountable, and aims to offer high quality accredited programs.

The school was founded in 1951 in Southern California as the Grantham College of Engineering, but as the need for distance education increased the school consolidated its offices in New Orleans, Louisiana. The school was located there until Hurricane Katrina hit the area in 2005, destroying nearly all of Grantham’s buildings. Since then, the school has operated from offices in Kansas City, Missouri. Grantham offers a variety of graduate and undergraduate degrees online, many of which are designed to help working adults get additional career training.

Grantham is divided up into three smaller schools: the College of Engineering, the School of Business and the College of Arts and Sciences. The school offers a variety of degrees but is best known for its programs in engineering and technology-related fields like computer science and information technology. Some working students may be able to get additional credit towards their degrees for their work experience. Students can check with the university to see if their experience can work to their benefit.

Online courses at Grantham offer students flexibility they wouldn’t have when taking on-campus classes. Students can begin their courses at any time and can complete them at any time during an 8-week time period. Students who are especially motivated can complete their coursework more quickly, sometimes finishing their degree programs in as little at 18 months. Students can work towards an Associate’s, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at their own pace in majors like Business Administration, Computer Science, and Criminal Justice.
