Marist University Program Review
Marist University strives to gain recognition as one of the best colleges in the country by creating distinctive and quality degree programs. The school wants to promote an atmosphere that encourages diversity and unity and to draw in students from all over the nation and the world. Ultimately, the school hopes to become an even more effective educational institution that helps students to become strong, confident and successful business professionals.
Marist College draws its name from the Catholic order of the Marist Brothers, who in 1816 were working to improve educational opportunities all over the world. By 1905 the beginnings of the school were established in the Hudson river area. The campus today is still located along the Hudson in Poughkeepsie, New York, and serves thousands of undergraduate and graduate students. Students non-native to New York or who need a more flexible learning program can enroll with the school’s online degree programs as well.
Students looking for a school that’s on the cutting edge of technology and that can provide them with access to Internet, computer and other high-tech facilities can benefit from attending Marist. The school was deemed one of the 25 Most Connected Campuses by Forbes Magazine. Students will have access to online courses, interactive classroom technology and innovative programs like the school’s “iDentity Quest” pod casting program.
Marist University offers students needing a more flexible learning format to enroll with its eLearning program. With it, students can study online and work at their own pace and at times that are most convenient to them. Currently, Marist online offers graduate level degree programs online, but there are a variety of single undergraduate classes that are available to take so that students can transfer credits or simply brush up on topics that interest them. Courses and programs are offered in fields like Business Administration, Information Systems and Communication.
