Nova Southeastern Institute Program Review
Nova Southeastern Institute’s mission is to help students prepare themselves through education for success in their chosen career path as well as in building professional leadership skills that will help them to make an impact in their community. The school offers high quality educational programs to students from a variety of backgrounds and levels of experience.
NSI was founded as the Nova University of Advanced Technology in 1964. Since its beginnings as a state-chartered school, Nova has grown into one of the largest not-for-profit independent universities in the nation. Aside from the main campus in Davie, Florida, the school has an additional East Campus location, a North Miami Beach campus and a special school for oceanographic studies. There are also several student education centers scattered across the U.S. as well as a growing distance learning program that students can access online.
Students can find all the standard undergraduate and graduate programs they would expect from a large university at Nova as well as some specialty programs that are found at few other schools. One program Nova offers that many other schools do not is a doctoral degree program in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. The school is one of only two in the U.S. to offer such a program.
For students looking not only for a range of undergraduate and graduate programs but also for a flexible learning platform, online education with Nova can be a great solution. Students will also have the option of how they’d like to take their courses from Nova, with some being offered entirely online while others require a few in-class sessions a month. Students will work with qualified faculty towards their degree programs and can use resources like the school’s online library and computer software. Students can pursue fields like Nursing, Education and Optometry right from the comfort of their own homes.
