Quinnipiac University Program Review

Students at Quinnipiac will be provided with quality faculty, highly developed curriculum and career-advancing internships. Degree programs are designed to help students meet their full potential and to become involved as leaders in their communities and professional careers. Quinnipiac builds its curriculum and core classes to give students the chance to learn critical thinking skills that they’ll use throughout their lives.

Samuel W. Tator founded the school in 1929 as the Connecticut College of Commerce, and the school kept that name until 1951 when it was renamed in honor of a local Native American tribe. Students can attend classes at Quinnipiac at the Camden, Connecticut, campus or in near future at campuses in York Hill and North Haven. For those not able to make it to campus locations, there are several programs available online as well.

Those interested in journalism and communications will benefit from the programs at Quinnipiac which provide students with a firm, basic education in the subjects while giving them access to many ways to get practical, hands-on skills during their time at the university. Students can work in two different radio stations, at a television station and a student-run newspaper as well as a variety of other commercial and university owned publications.

For those who cannot -- for reasons of time, distance or personal circumstances -- attend courses on campus at Quinnipiac, there are a number of online options available as well. Courses are taught online using online presentations, discussion forums with other students and a variety of assignments which can all be completed at the student’s convenience so long as deadlines are met. There are several programs available online with the university including certifications in Math Education, Professional Studies, and Sexual Assault Forensic Examination.
