Online classes are offered at the introductory, undergraduate and graduate level, so students have the flexibility to learn at their own pace from their own homes while planning out and achieving their career goals.
The Baker College System now enrolls over 35,000 students online and on campus at its 16 different locations. The system is the largest independent college in Michigan, and offers over 150 career-specific programs. Baker College is the result of the joining of three separate colleges, Muskegon College, John Wesley College. and Baker Business University. Muskegon College was founded in 1888, and Baker Business University was established in 1911, both as responses to needs inspired by the lumber industry and automotive industry. The schools joined together and in 1974 became known as Baker Junior College. Over the years, Baker began offering more advanced degrees and underwent several renovation projects to accommodate its growth. John Wesley College was acquired in 1983, and the Baker College System was authorized in 1985. Campuses are located across the state of Michigan, in Fremont, Muskegon, Cadillac, West Branch, Owosso, Jackson, Coldwater, Allen Park, Clinton Township, Auburn Hills, Port Huron, Sarnia, Cass City, and Sandusky, as well as online.
Online classes at Baker College operate on a specific schedule but are still flexible enough for busy individuals juggling professional and personal responsibilities. Online undergraduate programs are offered in many different areas, including Computer Science, Accounting, Marketing, Project Management and Planning, Finance, Web Design, Code Administration, and. Students can take classes at the Associate's, Bachelor's or certificate levels and may be eligible for accelerated programs. Graduate programs are available in the following areas: Doctor of Business Administration, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Information Systems, and Master of Occupational Therapy.
