eCornell Program Review
Cornell University’s goal is to create a learning community that encourages students to be leaders in their communities and to sit at the forefront of research and scientific inquiry. Programs of study at Cornell are designed to support personal and professional growth, scholarship and a sense of creativity and curiosity. Students at Cornell are encouraged to push the boundaries of existing inquiry and knowledge and to work with others from the diverse student body to find new and innovative solutions.
Cornell University was founded as an institution where any student, regardless of race, could go to get a higher education. The school was masterminded by Ezra Cornell and Andrew Dickson White shortly after the American Civil War, and has since been providing high quality education to students from all over the world. The main campus of the school is in Ithaca, New York, but students attending eCornell never need to set foot on this campus to complete their coursework.
eCornell has one of the most comprehensive online professional development programs offered by any of the top universities in the United States. eCornell provides online learning experiences that are designed specifically to meet the needs of those seeking professional and executive development. The online programs specialize in the areas of strategy, leadership and management development, human resources, financial management, and hospitality management.
eCornell was designed so that students with full-time jobs or who just don’t have the time to commit to on campus classes can have the same access to high-quality education. Students will receive their educational materials for courses with eCornell in a variety of formats that can include everything from video tapes to CD-ROMs. Interaction between students and professors is encouraged, and personal attention can be obtained through email or phone contact. Certification programs are offered in fields like Human Resources Management and even Bird Biology.
