Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences Program Review
Florida Hospital College hopes to provide students with an environment that encourages spiritual, intellectual and social growth while taking courses that challenge them academically. The school hopes to integrate its Christian values into its educational programs so that students learn both about the scientific side of health care as well as the compassionate and ethical side. The ultimate aim is to create an educational experience that will generate caring, competent and professional graduates.
The Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences came about in 1992. The school was originally founded in 1913 and was known as the Florida Hospital School of Nursing, but it was not until the combination of four major health programs that the school came to be known under its current name. Located in downtown Orlando, Florida, the school is connected with the Florida Hospital and allows students to get hands on experience while pursing a degree program in a field like occupational therapy or sonography.
Students attending on campus classes at the Florida Hospital College will get access to the nearby Florida Hospital where they can see health services theory in action. Those working online will be able to combine their online studies with approved clinical programs at local facilities. Florida Hospital College is known for its high quality educational programs, especially in the areas of organ transplantation and heart surgery, so students will get a chance to learn from the best.
While not all programs at Florida Hospital College are offered online, there are many that are, giving students who would not otherwise be able to attend the school the chance to do so. Most course materials are delivered directly to the student online, though some programs may require content to be sent through the mail. Students can take classes when it’s most convenient to them, working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Radiologic Science or Medical Sonography.
