Grand Canyon University Program Review
Grand Canyon University strives to create educational programs that emphasize individual attention for students and meet the needs of both traditional and non-traditional students. The school works to create a cutting-edge curriculum and to give students the education and skills they’ll need to be successful professionals in today’s international marketplace.
Founded in 1949, Grand Canyon University is a private, Christian university with its main campus in Phoenix, AZ. The school was created by a group of Arizona Southern Baptists who felt that there needed to be a faith-based institution that would allow Baptists the opportunity to obtain a Bachelor's or Master's degree locally. Today, the growing university offers students the chance to earn their degrees both online and off through several divisions including the: Ken Blanchard College of Business, College of Education, College of Nursing, College of Entrepreneurship, and College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Grand Canyon University is consistently well-ranked by U.S. News &World Report as a small, Christian school and one of the best educational buys. The school aims to maintain their proud academic and religious traditions while looking to the future and offering a range of online degree programs.
Students enrolling with the online programs at Grand Canyon University will be assigned to a community of fellow learners with whom the students can discuss classroom materials and projects. Students will use online technologies to work with highly qualified instructors, trained to teach in the online environment. Degree programs are available at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in four programs of study including: Education, Nursing, Business and the Liberal Arts.
