Utica College Program Review

Utica College is committed to educating students to be competent professionals with rewarding careers, responsible citizens, and fulfilled individuals by intermixing liberal and professional study, by creating a comfortable community of learners from diverse backgrounds, and by encouraging lifelong learning. The school wants to make continual improvements to refining this educational blueprint and wants to embrace the highest ethical standards, open communications and integrity in all it does.

Utica College was established in the 1930s when Syracuse University began offering extension courses in the Utica area. The college became a four-year institution in 1946, and in 1995, it became financially and legally independent from Syracuse. Today students can get their degrees through the college’s Utica, New York, campus or online.

Utica College is well-known for its health science education program, and it is one of the leading colleges in both occupational and physical therapy as well as child psychology. Another distinction the college has was being the first to offer a program of study in Economic Crime. Students can learn to identify, prevent and manage the effects of economic crime through this program.

Distance learning at UC offers students the opportunity to take classes on their own schedule and at a school they might not otherwise be able to attend. The majority of Utica’s courses are delivered asynchronously so they can be easily fit into a busy schedule. Students will also have access to constant support from the Academic Support Services Center which can help them deal with any questions or concerns about their academic process. Degrees are available at the Bachelors, Masters or Professional Certification levels, and students will get the skills and education they need to work in fields like Cyber Security, Business Administration and Financial Crimes Investigation.
